Looking at the bottom end of the scale, running a small B&B, installing solar geysers is too expensive (even with the subsidy).
The most frightening risk to Tourism & life in general is that we(as a nation)are using 98% of our present total water available.
Seasonal foreign tourism adds to the drain on our water, saving on the use of electricity is important, the question / debate on how to save water needs also be of equal importance.

Hi
That man is soooo right. It is the new wave and it will gain momentum as the greedy oil vendors charge too much and the world can then get away from the oil addiction.
America made a deal to price oil in US Dollars. It prints the dollar and the oil costs them nothing. Wait until oil is traded in other currencies!!! USA will be in big trouble as it then has to buy other currencies to buy oil.

We at Allandale installed our 1st Solar Water Heating (SWH) System in 1986, and every year added more until now we have 17 systems, some up to 22 years old saving us kW everyday by absorbing free UV and transfering it into water.
We installed our 1st Low Energy Fluorecent LEF in early 1986 which cost us an arm and a leg, R57 for one light fitting with a D tube, but they lasted for 7-10 years each.
We use gas cooking and heating, LEF lights, SWH and recycle paper, plastic, glass and tins.
What we are trying to say, we have done our little bit.
Our electricity account varies from R3000-R5000 p.m. and we sleep anything up to 70 people.

As they say every journey starts with the 1st step.
