The recent liquidation of the Pinnacle Point Group Ltd. has not in any way affected the continued and successful operation of Mossel Bay’s Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort.

“It’s important to make it quite clear that the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort is a separate and independent entity that is definitely not under liquidation,” said Carl van der Linde, General Manager of Mossel Bay’s Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort Homeowner’s Association.

He said that a number of misunderstandings and misconceptions need to be corrected.

“A total of 95% of the properties on the estate currently belong to private owners, with only 5% – representing 42 unsold erven – affected by the liquidation of Pinnacle Point Resorts (Pty) Ltd. (a subsidiary of Pinnacle Point Group Ltd.), which was the original developer of the estate.

“The sale of these 42 erven is the responsibility of the liquidator – who has already been appointed – and once they’re disposed of, 100% of the estate will belong to private owners.”

Mr. van der Linde said that the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort’s Home Owners Association (a Section 21, not-for profit organisation) is responsible for managing the estate and the golf club (including the course, the clubhouse, and related facilities). This responsibility is currently executed with exceptional efficiency.

“In terms of the organisation’s articles of association, the liquidator is in the process of transferring ownership of the Golf Club to the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort Home Owners Association, and a special meeting of the Association will take place in December 2011 when the final approval of the transfer will take place,” he said.

Mr. van der Linde stressed that the golf course is currently in excellent condition, that visitors are most welcome, and that the course, the clubhouse, and the popular Fairways Restaurant are open for all to enjoy.

“We’re looking forward to a bumper summer holiday, and we’re hoping that, by the new year, the misconceptions about the status of the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort will have been laid to rest,” he said.
