Learn Spanish and open yourself to a new world of tourism and business opportunities.

Armiger (Pty) Ltd, in association with Alive! P.T.L. has established a Language Training Faculty of the University of Buenos Aires in Mossel Bay and Cape Town.

The Company is now considering offering a course in Knysna, and will do so if sufficient candidates can be found.

The Language Faculty is staffed by the Language Centre of the University of Buenos Aires. All the training programmes and the certification are managed by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), and students receive an internationally recognised proficiency certificate from the UBA on successful completion of the course.

The training course lasts for 90 hours, after which successful students will be able to converse in the Spanish language.

This training will benefit people working in the hospitality industry, tourism, transport services, and supermarkets and other stores, as well as government officials, municipal workers, and safety and medical personnel who expect to be dealing with visitors to South Africa in the run-up to and beyond 2010.

More than 400 million people around the world speak Spanish – and the only barrier to their coming to South Africa is that they are not used to our languages. They’ll be coming here in 2010, though, because they love their soccer – and once they’ve seen South Africa, you can be sure they’ll be coming back. And that will open new opportunities in tourism, import and export, and many other areas of business and cultural exchange with countries like Argentina, Mexico, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, and, of course, with Spain.

These fast track courses have been specifically developed to provide for the ability to communicate orally and understand foreign languages in readiness for the 2010 World Cup and beyond. The legacy of the ability to address and assist tourists in their native language will greatly benefit the South African Tourist Industry in the future.
