Indaba Daily News Recognised For Excellence In Publishing

The Indaba Daily News was recognised for excellence in publishing at the annual awards ceremony of the SA Publication Forum yesterday.

The publication was named an overall finalist in this competition, making it one of South Africa’s top corporate publications.

It was also named first runner-up in the ‘Best Newspaper’ and ‘Best Communication’ categories, and a finalist in the ‘Excellence in Design’ category.

Produced by Junxion Communications on behalf of South African Tourism for the past ten years, the Indaba Daily News is the official newspaper of the annual tourism Indaba, South Africa’s premier international travel industry exhibition.

Competition moderator Louise Emerton called the publication a marathon in communication.

“I take my hat off to this dedicated team who is willing ‘to dream the impossible dream’, year after year, AND succeeding in turning the dream into a reality!  It is indeed a monument to the dedication, stamina and perseverance of the editorial team.  The publication’s vibe is spot-on for the tourism industry as a whole and for the event in particular.”

Editor Martin van Niekerk says the success of the Indaba Daily News is the result of in-depth knowledge of and experience in the tourism and publishing industries.  “Add to this an incredible team effort by a group of experienced and highly competent individuals, and you have a winner.”

He thanked the key members of the Indaba Daily News team, journalists Ben Rootman and Estelle Walmsley, graphic designer Heidi Amrouni and photographer Roy Reed.

The Indaba Daily News is produced on-site, overnight, and appears each morning of the four-day exhibition.
